Wireless Charging

If your customer’s vehicle is equipped with a wireless charging pad^*, take a few minutes during delivery to show them how to use it correctly. It’s a small step that adds a big boost to customer satisfaction—especially for tech-savvy buyers!

Many smartphones today are Qi-certified, which means they can charge wirelessly when placed on the vehicle’s charging pad^*. Walking your customers through the setup helps them get full use of the feature right away.

How to Use Wireless Charging^*

• Enable Wireless Charging System^* in the infotainment system by selecting Setup > Vehicle > Convenience > Enable Wireless Charging System for Mobile Devices (this setting is ON by default).

• Place a compatible smartphone on the center of the wireless charging pad^*. The location of the wireless charging pad^* may differ depending on the vehicle model.

• The indicator near the wireless charger^* will light up in amber when the smartphone is charging. Depending on the smartphone, the indicator may turn green when charging is complete.
  • Some models (like the Carnival and K5) may also have a setting to change the Wireless Charging^* indicator:
    • Type 1: LED indicator changes color once charging is complete
    • Type 2: LEDs animate while charging, then stop and glow solid when complete

Important Tips and Reminders

• Wireless charging^* only works when:
  • Push-button start is ON
  • All doors are closed
  • The Smart Key is detected inside the vehicle
• Avoid placing metal objects near the charging pad^*
• The smartphone must be Qi^® certified; if it is not, it may affect the availability, speed, or performance of the wireless charging^*
• Some phones may not charge wirelessly when connected to a USB port
• Thick phone cases may impact the charge rate
