For one reason or another, your customers may need to lift the wipers of their vehicle. Some Kia models require the system to be in Wiper Service Mode, otherwise customers may accidentally damage the paint on the hood of their vehicle lifting the blades. Familiarize yourself with the models that use this feature and how to activate it, so you’re prepared to explain it for customers.

The following vehicles require Wiper Service Mode to lift the windshield wipers: EV6, Niro, Sportage (Front & Rear), Carnival (Front & Rear), Sorento (Front & Rear), Telluride, Forte, K5,and Stinger.

Using Wiper Service Mode (raising/lowering windshield wiper arms):

  1. Turn the vehicle ignition ON with the engine OFF and then turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Within 20 seconds after turning the vehicle ignition OFF; raise the Wiper Blade Control Stalk (Mist), and hold it for more than 2 seconds
  3. The Wiper Arms will move upward and stop in the vertical position. They can now be moved away from the Windshield for cleaning, etc. and placed back onto the windshield when done.
  4. To lower the wiper arms, turn the vehicle ignition ON with the engine OFF. Then, move the Wiper Blade Control Stalk up to return the Wipers to the “park” position.
  5. Finally, turn the vehicle ignition to the OFF position.
