Remote button configuration may vary depending on vehicle options.
Certain 2025 Kia models are equipped with remote start* which can be operated with the Smart Key fob. Customers can start or stop the engine at the push of a button (4) or lock (1) and unlock (2) the doors from the outside.
Whether customers want to warm up the car on a cold morning or secure it from afar, the Smart Key fob makes it easy.
Operating Remote Start*
  1. To start, ensure all doors are closed and locked.
  2. Press the lock button (1) again to confirm the vehicle’s doors are locked. Within four seconds of pressing the lock button, press the remote start* (4) button for more than two seconds.

NOTE: If the remote start* button is not depressed within four seconds of locking the doors, the doors will need to be locked again, and the above steps repeated.
  3. Press the remote start* button again to turn off the vehicle.
Don’t forget!
  • Remote start*will not operate if:
    • A door is open or unlocked
    • The hood is open
  • After remote starting*, the vehicle will run for 10 minutes before turning off.
    • On some models, the vehicle may turn off after opening door(s) and/or if the brake pedal is not depressed.
  • Do not use remote start* if the vehicle is in an enclosed area (e.g., closed garage) or a partially enclosed area without ventilation. Always close all doors/windows leading from adjacent living areas to the vehicle area before executing a remote start* command.
