KIA P2M Posts Favorite Protecting Vehicle Range* with EV6’s Onboard Power Generator* 2022 EV6 GT-Line shown It’s likely your EV customers will be excited to use the available Onboard Power Generator* (vehicle-to-load, more commonly known as V2L) feature on their new EV6. However, because the Onboard Power Generator* uses the EV battery to function, customers should be aware that extended use of the generator may decrease the vehicle’s charge level and affect the remaining range*. Luckily, drivers can set the Battery Discharge Limit to help conserve range* for the next leg of their journey. Battery Discharge Limit The Battery Discharge Limit helps preserve the battery’s range* by cutting off power to the Onboard Power Generator* when a certain State of Charge (SoC) is reached. This limit can be set via the infotainment screen by selecting EV and then Onboard Power Generator*. The driver can then set their preferred discharge limit. Encourage your customers to set their own Discharge Limit to help prevent potential frustration when using the Onboard Power Generator*. NOTE: If the Battery Discharge Limit is NOT set by the driver, the Onboard Power Generator* will automatically be disabled when the battery reaches 20% State of Charge.
