The J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality StudySM* (IQS) measures the customer’s perception of quality at 90 days of ownership. The 2023 IQS* results were released in June and are based on 2023MY vehicles sold between November 1st, 2022 and February 28th, 2023.

2024MY J.D. Power IQS* Strategy

For 2024 models, IQS* will be a year-round survey, so as each 2024 model launches and is sold, these vehicles will be eligible to be a part of the survey. Therefore, 2024 Seltos and Carnivals being sold now can be a part of IQS*.

How can you contribute to Kia’s IQS* performance?

By ensuring that every vehicle is in top condition when prepared and provided to a customer.

How to Deliver Pristine Vehicles Every Time:

  • Ensure a thorough Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) is performed, including driving the vehicle on the PDI test route and identifying any dynamic items that need improvement.
  • Properly perform all Service Actions and Service Campaigns on all applicable VINs.
  • Confirm that vehicles are pristine and free of any dents/dings so that a customer does not experience a “Problem on Delivery” (POD).

Know Your Features & Functions

It’s also important that you have a complete understanding of vehicle features. If you can explain to a customer the feature’s proper functionality, you can mitigate any misunderstanding of how a feature operates. In this way, if they reach out to the dealer Service Team, you will be helping to improve our customers’ perceived vehicle quality, which directly impacts IQS* scores
