It is important to fully explain the features and programming of HomeLink®* to your customers so that they understand how it seamlessly integrates into their vehicle’s interior and the benefit of how the feature conveniently connects to their home devices with just a few button presses.
However, HomeLink®* is an Important to Explain (ITE) feature. There is an opportunity to enhance the customer experience. Some customers report not understanding what vehicles/garage door openers are equipped with HomeLink®* and they also have difficulty understanding how to program the feature.
How to enhance the customer experience regarding HomeLink®*:
- Clearly explain to your customer if HomeLink®* is included on the vehicle and trim they are considering. Homelink®* may also be a dealer – or PIO accessory.
- Share with your customer that not all garage door openers are compatible, and use this reference to confirm if their garage door opener is compatible.
- Replace batteries in the hand-held transmitter of the device being programmed.
- Place the ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP button to the ACC (Accessory) position for programming.
- For instructions on specific manufacturer and vehicle/garage door models, you can find the information here.
Remember that HomeLink®* is just one of the Important to Explain (ITE) features on Kia vehicles. You can find vehicle-specific information on KiaPPC.com at any time.
