2026 EV6 shown. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist* (FCA), for illustration purposes only.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist* (FCA) is designed to help detect certain objects ahead and may warn the driver of a potential collision with both an alert on the Instrument Cluster and a warning sound. In certain situations, FCA* may also apply braking assistance to help reduce the severity of a collision.

*Operation may very by model

How to Turn FCA* On or Off

To access FCA* controls in the infotainment system:

  1. Select Vehicle
  2. Select Driver Assistance
  3. Select Driving Safety
  4. Choose Forward Safety to turn the feature on or off

Adjusting FCA* Warning Timing

You can customize how early FCA* alerts the driver:

  • Standard: Use Standard in normal driving conditions. If the Warning timing seems sensitive, change to Late.
  • Late: If Late is selected, FCA* will warn the driver more slowly.

Driving Safety Priority Audio Setting

For FCA* and other ADAS features, the system can automatically lower other audio sources when a safety alert is triggered.

To enable or disable this:

  1. Select the Volume icon on the Driver Assistance screen
  2. Toggle Driving Safety Priority
