For all our EV and PHEV customers, understanding how to navigate the charge port is essential for optimizing their charging* experience. During the vehicle orientation process, take the time to explain the operation of the EV charge port, including the ability to customize when the charging* connector can be locked and unlocked while in the charging* inlet.

Access Charging* Connector Locking Mode Settings (ccNC Head Unit)

  1. Select the EV icon.
  2. Select the Reserved Charging icon.
  3. Select AC Charger.

Access Charging* Connector Locking Mode Settings (AVN5.0W Head Unit)

  1. Select the EV icon.
  2. Select the Settings icon.
  3. Select Charging Connector Locking Mode.

Charging* Connector Locking Modes

  • Always Lock Mode: The connector locks when the charging* connector is plugged into the charging* inlet until all doors are unlocked.
    • If the charging* connector is unlocked after unlocking all doors, but the cable is not disconnected within 15 seconds, or if the doors are locked again, the connector will automatically lock again.
  • Lock While Charging Mode: The connector locks when charging* starts. The connector unlocks when charging* is complete.
  • Do Not Lock Mode: The connector unlocks regardless of the state of charging*. Press the charging* connector release button to disconnect the connector.

Troubleshooting

When using AC (L1/L2) charging* and the charging* cable does not detach from the vehicle, press lock, then unlock on the remote key fob to unlock the vehicle and the charge port (may need to complete more than once). For DC (L3) charging*, the charge session must be stopped before unplugging.
