KIA P2M Posts Favorite Discover ADAS* Blind-Spot Technologies Blind-Spot Collision Warning* (BCW) and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist* (BCA) shown, For illustration purposes only. Kia’s ADAS* Blind-Spot Technologies include two features designed to detect vehicles in driver’s blind spots and can help prevent collisions in certain conditions. Blind-Spot Collision Warning* (BCW) is designed to alert the driver of a possible collision with both a flashing icon in the side mirror and an auditory alert. If the system detects a risk of collision when changing lanes or driving forward out of a parking space, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist* (BCA) is designed to apply the brakes to help avoid a collision. Let’s take a closer look at how these features and their additional technologies work. Blind-Spot Collision Warning* (BCW) (A)Capable of detecting, under certain conditions, vehicles approaching from behind in the next lane. When a vehicle is detected in the blind spot, an icon flashes in the outside rear-view mirror and if the turn signal is on, can issue an auditory alert to warn the driver.Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist* (BCA) (B) Builds on BCW* and is designed to help avoid a collision by actively moving the vehicle away from the adjacent vehicle and returning the vehicle to its lane under certain conditions.Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist-Parallel Exit* (BCA-PE) (C)Builds on BCW* and is designed to apply emergency braking when a driver tries to exit from a parallel parking spot and the vehicle detects oncoming traffic from behind. NOTE: Customers can adjust the blind-spot feature settings (if equipped) within the vehicle settings in the infotainment system or the cluster If equipped with volume setting capability, the warning volumes for blind-spot features may also be adjusted. Watch the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist* (BCA) and the Blind-Spot View Monitor* (BVM) videos to learn more so you can explain the blind-spot technologies to your customers during Delivery or at the Service Drive. You can watch these videos at any time and can even share them with customers! Sincerely,Ownership Experience TeamKia America, Inc.
