“Hey Kia” Wake-Up Word

With the “Hey Kia” wake-up word, customers can activate the voice recognition system (for equipped vehicles) using just their voice from specific seats in the vehicle. This technology even offers independent seat activation in some models like the 2025 Carnival MVP, meaning features can be activated independently for the seat that used the “Hey Kia” command.

Some key features you can control with voice recognition include:

• Adjusting climate control for passenger and rear seats
• Opening and closing windows from specific seats
• Controlling the relaxation functions of the second-row seats

For example, if a passenger on the driver’s side second row says, “Hey Kia, open the window,” only the left-side window for that particular seat will open.

Note: The wake-up word is only available on certain models equipped with Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) head units. Additionally, certain models like Carnival MPV may light up the door dot pattern for the user that activated voice recognition using the “Hey Kia” wake-up word.

Enable Wake-Up Word

1. On the home screen, press the Setup widget (A).
2. Seleccionar Voice Recognition (B).
3. Toggle the slider to enable wake-up word (C).

Troubleshooting Tips

Unintended Activation

Wake-up word activation sensitivity can be adjusted from the Voice Recognition settings. Lower the wake-up sensitivity setting to reduce unintended activation (D).

Feature Is Not Available Error

Certain voice recognition commands may not be available from seats other than the Driver’s seat.
