Exploring 2025MY Device Ports

Certain 2025 model year vehicles including the EV9, Sorento, K5, K4, and Carnival MPV offer two types of USB ports: a multimedia USB-C port and a device-charging USB-C port.

• Multimedia USB-C Port (A): Connect compatible devices for wired Android Auto^™* and Apple CarPlay^®*, music playback, or infotainment software updates. Switch between data transfer and charging only functionality by pressing the button to the right (B).
• Multimedia USB-C Port Switch (B): Press to switch between data transfer and charging only functionality. When the top LED is illuminated, the port allows for charging only. When the bottom LED is illuminated, both data transfer and charging is enabled.
• Device-Charging USB-C Port (C): Labeled with a battery icon, this port is for charging compatible devices only.
• 12V Power Outlet (D): Labeled 12V, it powers compatible devices requiring 12 volts. Push down on the button to open/close the outlet door (availability varies by vehicle).

Other 2025 model year vehicles may offer mixed USB-A and USB-C ports, including Telluride, Sportage, EV6, Seltos, Niro, and Soul. These models may also be equipped with a 12V power outlet.

• 12V Power Outlet (E): Labeled 12V, this port can be used to provide power for compatible devices that require 12 volts.
• Multimedia USB Port (F): This port is labeled USB and can be used to connect a compatible device to Android Auto^™* or Apple CarPlay^®* or a USB device to play music or perform infotainment software updates.
• Device-Charging USB Port (G): Labeled with a battery icon, this port is used to charge compatible devices only.

Important to Know

• Some infotainment systems that support wireless Apple CarPlay^®* may not support wired Apple CarPlay^®*.
• These ports will only work when the vehicle is on or in accessory mode.
• Device-Charging USB Ports charge faster than the Multimedia USB Ports.
• Always use the USB charging cable that has been certified by the device manufacturer. Use of an aftermarket cable is not recommended, as it may impact functionality.
• Location of the ports may vary depending on the vehicle.
• Kia advises customers to update the head unit to the latest software by visiting https://update.kia.com/US/EN/Main.
