Operating the Power Sliding Doors

The power sliding door can be opened or closed in several convenient ways:

• Press the left/right Power Sliding Door buttons on the overhead console (1)
• Pull the interior or exterior door handles
• Press the button on the exterior handle
• Hold the Power Sliding Door button on the Smart Key fob
• Press the button on the center pillar trim

When the Power Door Off button (2) on the overhead console is no illuminated, the doors can be controlled with the buttons on the Overhead Console. The power liftgate can also be operated by pressing the overhead or liftgate buttons.

Understanding Automatic Stop and Reversal

If sufficient resistance is detected while the door is opening or closing, a three-chime alert will sound, and the door will stop and/or reverse direction to allow any object to clear. A sensor is located on the outer front edge of each power sliding door to help detect physical resistance.

However, this feature has important limitations:

• It will not detect light or soft resistance (e.g., a child’s fingers or hands).
• If the door is nearly latched, it will continue to close.
• The system does not use optical sensors—physical contact is required for detection.

This system is supplemental and should not be presented as a substitute for attentive operation.

Safety Reminders

• Always ensure no one is in the path of the sliding door before closing.
• A two-chime alert sounds when the doors begin to open or close.
• Never allow children to play near the doors or operate unattended.
• If the vehicle will be parked or doors unused for a while, disable the system by pressing the Power Door Off button (2). The doors will then function manually.
