Benefits of A/C Automatic Drying

Your customers can minimize air conditioner odor with the A/C automatic drying! This helpful feature is available on certain model years/trims for the EV6, EV9, Sportage, and Niro EV. It keeps the evaporator dry and fresh by running the blower motor for a few minutes after the vehicle is shut off to avoid musty smells!

On equipped vehicles, customers can adjust this feature from their infotainment screen by going to Setup > Climate > Climate Features > A/C Auto-Dry. There they can set it to ON or OFF. They’ll also get a friendly reminder on the screen when the blower is about to start, usually 30 minutes after the ignition is switched off.

This feature only works when certain conditions are met, including:

• The A/C was used before turning off the vehicle
• The 12-volt battery is well-charged
• The outside temperature is not too low (to save battery life)
