Operating Capacitive Touch Door Handles

Increase customer satisfaction by explaining the operation of the Capacitive Touch Door Handles during Delivery or at the Service Drive and ensure that customers embark on their driving journey with confidence.

Show customers an easier way to unlock and lock their Kia vehicle with Capacitive Touch Door Handles (if equipped). Available on certain trims of 2024 Niro, Seltos, and Telluride, this feature is designed to reduce the hassle of finding a key fob and instead uses the simplicity of touch to unlock and lock doors. Capture your customers’ attention by demonstrating the convenience of these easy-to-use door handles.

To Unlock the Door

1. From outside, with the Smart Key fob nearby or on the driver’s person, reach into and pull the handle (A)
2. Hazard lights will flash, and the vehicle will beep twice, indicating all four doors are now unlocked. It is important to note that if the 2-press unlock feature is enabled, just the driver’s door will unlock.

To Unlock with 2-Press Enabled

1. With 2-Press Unlock enabled, touch the inside of the exterior door handle once to unlock the driver’s door. If you touch the inside of the door handle again, all doors and liftgate will unlock.
   − To enable 2-Press Unlock, select Setup. Then select Vehicle. Scroll down to Door. Select Enable/Disable 2-Press Unlock.

To Lock the Door

1. From the outside, with the Smart Key fob nearby or on the driver’s person, touch the indentation on the door handle (B)
2. Hazard lights will flash, and the vehicle will beep twice, indicating all four doors are now locked

On trims without this feature, a button on the door handle both locks and unlocks the doors. Vehicles with Capacitive Touch Door Handles feature have an indentation on the door handle that only locks doors, not unlocks them.

REMINDERS:

The button/sensor will only operate when the Smart Key is within 28-40 inches from the outside door handle. If the outside door button/sensor is pressed, the doors will not lock, and a chime will sound if:

• The Smart Key is in the vehicle
• The ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ACC or ON position
• Any door, except the liftgate, is opened
