KIA P2M Posts Favorito 2 Types of Electronic Parking Brakes Features may vary Many new Kia vehicles are equipped with Electronic Parking Brakes (EPB) that actuate with just the press of a button. At Kia, there are two main types of EPB. 1. Caliper-Integrated EPB A motor inside the caliper generates braking force by pushing the caliper piston out. This is a simpler EPB layout that works well across many models. 2. Cable-Type EPB A drum-in-hat system is used where the cable is pulled by an actuator with an integrated ECU.
