Smart Key with Remote Start

Some 2026MY Kia vehicles are equipped with a factory-installed remote start system. The Smart Key^* fob allows the customer to start or stop the engine, as well as lock or unlock the doors, from outside the vehicle.

How to Use Remote Start

1. Make sure all doors are closed and locked.
2. Press the lock button (A) again to confirm the vehicle is locked. Within four seconds, press and hold the Remote Start button (B) for more than two seconds.
   • If the Remote Start button is not pressed within four seconds of locking the doors, the process must be repeated.
3. To turn the vehicle off, press the Remote Start button again.

Important Operating Notes

• Remote Start will not operate if any door is open or unlocked.
• Remote Start will not operate if the hood is open.
• After remote starting, the vehicle will run for 10 minutes before automatically turning off.
  • On some models, the vehicle may turn off after opening the door or if the brake pedal is not pressed.
• Never use Remote Start in an enclosed or partially enclosed space without proper ventilation. Ensure all doors or windows leading to living areas are closed before using Remote Start.
