Today’s Kia vehicles feature a variety of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems* (ADAS) that use cameras and sensors. These features help customers drive with greater confidence and convenience. Take a moment to explain to your customers how to keep the cameras clean to function properly.

Finding the Cameras

  • Backup camera: Usually positioned above the license plate.
  • Side view cameras: Found near the side mirrors.
  • Front-facing camera: Located behind the windshield near the rearview mirror.
  • Additional sensors: Often built into the front and rear bumpers, depending on the model.

Cleaning the Cameras

Note: Please ensure the customer does not use chemical solvents such as strong detergents containing high alkaline or volatile organic solves (gasoline, acetone, etc.) as it may damage the lens. Please refer to the owner’s manual for more information.

  • Backup and side view cameras:
    • Use a mild, car wash–specific cleaner safe for vehicle paint.
    • Wipe gently with a microfiber cloth and soapy water.
    • Avoid high-pressure sprays directly on the camera.
    • Never use acidic, alkaline, or solvent-based cleaners such as gasoline or acetone.
  • Front-facing camera:
    • Simply activate the windshield wipers and washer system to clean it carefully.

Maintaining Performance

  • Regularly remove dirt, snow, grime, or road salt from all camera lenses.

Keeping these components clean ensures Kia’s advanced driver assistance systems* to operate normally, helping your customers stay confident behind the wheel.
