The Forward, Reverse, and Side Parking Distance Warning* (PDW) can help drivers avoid detected obstacles with audible alerts when moving at low speeds. PDW * is automatically active when the ignition is on and the gear is in Reverse, or pulling forward into a parking spot, and can be deactivated by pressing the Parking Safety button (1). To set PDW* to activate automatically at low speeds: On the Infotainment screen, go to: Setup Vehicle Driver Assistance Parking Safety Parking Distance Warning Auto On To adjust the alert volume (which also affects other driver assistance systems), select the Volume icon on the Driver Assistance screen. Pro Tip: In situations like drive-thru windows where the PDW may trigger unnecessarily, temporarily disable it by pressing the Parking Safety button. Just remember to reactivate it afterward.
