Features may vary

Guide your customers through some of the unique features of the EV9, particularly the Power Button and Gear Shift, which operate differently from traditional gear shifts. Explaining these differences can enhance their understanding and confidence in their new ride.

Power Button & Starting the Vehicle

To start the vehicle, press the brake pedal and push the POWER button (A) while the gear shift is in Park or Neutral (B). To turn the vehicle off, press the POWER button.

To use the POWER button, you must have the Smart Key fob on your person. The POWER button positions include:

  • OFF: The vehicle is off
  • ACC (Accessory): The vehicle is in accessory position; limited functions are available
  • ON: Some vehicle functions are on; warning lights can be checked
  • START/RUN: the READY indicator will illuminate, and the vehicle is ready to drive

Gear Position

To change gears, rotate the stalk (D) toward or away from you. From Park, a full turn away selects Drive, while a full turn toward you select Reverse. To shift into Neutral, rotate the stalk halfway in either direction. To engage Park, simply press the Park button (C) located on the side of the stalk.

Car Wash Mode

When the vehicle is in READY mode, safety systems are active and may automatically engage the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and/or shift into Park in response to events like opening doors, unbuckling seatbelts, or detecting vehicle rollback. This can cause issues during automated car washes, especially those that move the vehicle through without a driver.

When entering an automatic car wash:

  1. With the vehicle off, press the POWER button twice to the ON mode (not READY mode).
  2. Set AUTO HOLD to ‘Off’.
  3. Press and hold the brake pedal.
  4. Select Neutral on the Gear Shift.
  5. Set the EPB to ‘Off’ by pushing the lever.
  6. Release the brake pedal. The vehicle will now stay in Neutral.

When leaving the car wash:

  1. Press and hold the brake pedal.
  2. Select Park on the Gear Shift.
  3. Press the POWER button to READY mode while brake is being held.
  4. Turn stalk to Drive to resume normal driving.

Check out the EV Power Button & Gearshift video to learn more about these features so you can explain them to your customers during Delivery or at the Service Drive.
