Remote button configuration may vary depending on vehicle options.

Some 2024 Kia vehicles are equipped with factory-installed remote start. If equipped, Smart Key w/ Remote Start* enables customers to start their engine from up to 32, unobstructed, feet away, allowing them to warm up, or cool down the vehicle’s interior before getting into the vehicle (if equipped with Kia Connect*). This feature should be reviewed during Delivery so your customer understands all the benefits this feature can provide.

Understanding the Remote

The numbers below correlate to the numbers in the image above on each remote.

  1. Lock Button
  2. Unlock Button
  3. Panic Alarm Button
  4. Remote Start Button

To Operate the Remote Feature

  1. Close and lock all doors
  2. Press the Remote Start* button for more than two (2) seconds within four (4) seconds after locking the doors
  3. To turn the engine off, press the Remote Start* button again

Reminders

  • The Remote Start* feature will not operate when a door is open or unlocked
  • The Remote Start* feature will not operate when the hood is open
  • After remote starting, the vehicle will run for 10 minutes before turning off if there is no activity
    • On some models, the vehicle may turn off after opening door(s) if brake pedal input isn’t detected
  • Do not use Remote Start* if the vehicle is in an enclosed area such as a closed garage or a partially enclosed area without ventilation
  • Close all doors leading from adjacent living areas to the vehicle’s area before using the Remote Start* feature
  • The Smart Key w/ Remote Start* will work up to 32 feet away from your vehicle, but be mindful that it may not work if there are certain obstructions in between you and your vehicle
