Active Air Flap (AAF) Model Updates

The Active Air Flap (AAF) Smart Module is no longer available on both the Sportage HEV and EV6. As these vehicles still utilize the AAF, the monitoring and actuation is now addressed in different control modules (described below).

Sportage HEV:

• Has an upper and lower AAF that will be open at Key OFF
• AAF data access and activation through the EMS
• Each AAF can be operated independently, and control is limited to Open/Close
• Data will only report Open/Close (with invalid displayed while in motion)
• Vehicle must be EV Ready with engine running

EV6:

• Has one AAF in the lower portion of the grille that will be closed at Key OFF
• AAF data access and activation through the MCU-F
• AAF activation only allows for Open/Close operation
• Vehicle must be EV Ready with climate OFF
