Procedure for Raising/Lowering Windshield Wiper Blades

  1. Turn the ignition ON (engine OFF) and then turn ignition OFF.
  2. Within 3 seconds after ignition OFF, raise the wiper control stalk and hold it for more than 2 seconds.
    1. The wiper arms will move upward and stop in the vertical position. They may now be moved away from the windshield for service
  3. After service, place the wiper arms on the windshield.
  4. Turn the ignition ON (engine OFF) and raise the wiper control stalk up to return the wipers to the normal position.
  5. Turn the ignition OFF.

It’s important to follow these steps as vehicle damage caused by incorrectly servicing windshield wiper blades is NOT COVERED by warranty.
