KIA P2M Posts Favorite Understanding Battery Saver+ for EVs and Hybrids You are probably aware of the EV6 (CV) Battery Saver+ function that turns off lighting after a preset time to prevent discharge. But some people may not realize that another High-Voltage model also includes Auxiliary Battery Saver+. The new Sorento Plug-in Hybrid (MQ4 PHEV) also has this function to not only prevent discharge, but also recharge the auxiliary 12-volt battery while the vehicle is OFF. Each activation of Battery Saver+ lasts no longer than 20 minutes. After 10 operations between key cycles, it will stop activating. Normal operation will resume after the auxiliary battery charge returns to normal. Let customers know that Battery Saver+ will NOT make up for a defective battery or remedy excessive battery drain caused by aftermarket equipment. Always keep an eye out for other battery issues. Setup For customer convenience, the Battery Saver+ is ON by default. However, it can be toggled ON/OFF in the User Settings of the vehicle: User Settings > Other Features > Battery Saver+ WARNING: If the indicator on the dash is ON, then DO NOT disconnect the high-voltage cables. Be sure to perform proper power down procedures before disconnecting. Battery Saver+ EV Hybrids Technical More Kia P2M Posts We’d love your feedback!
