EV Charging Connector Lock Modes

When charging, customers may become frustrated if their charge port door appears to remain locked despite their attempts to keep the vehicle unlocked. Be sure to explain how to set up their preferred charging connector lock settings.

1. In the vehicle, select Setup on the infotainment screen. Then choose Vehicle > ECO Vehicle > Charging Connector Lock.
2. Select the preferred charging connector locking mode:
   1. Always Lock Mode: The connector locks when the charging connector is plugged in and remains locked until all doors are unlocked. This mode is ideal if the driver is concerned with potential charging cable theft.
      1. If the doors are unlocked, the connector will automatically lock again if not removed within 15 seconds.
      1. If the doors lock, the connector will also be automatically locked.
   1. Lock While Charging Mode: The connector locks when charging starts. The connector unlocks when charging is complete. This mode is ideal for use when intending to share the charge plug once charging is complete.
   1. Do Not Lock Mode: The connector unlocks regardless of the state of charging. Drivers should be mindful of potential charging cable theft when using this mode.
